Monkey Mia Resort
Engineering – CMP Design and Construct
Builder – Aussie Modular Solutions
CMP were engaged to complete the Engineering and Installation of the Mechanical/Refrigeration Services to the new Arrivals Building. The Arrivals building is made up of a Retail Area, Reception, Malgana Centre, Offices and a Boardroom. It overlooks the newly installed Pool and Ablutions and sits next door to the Boughshed Restaurant.
The building was modular built in Perth then split up for transport to Monkey Mia. Precision and planning was critical to allow for this method of build around truss connections, short construction time frames and limited space.
CMP installed Panasonic FSV DX Type Air Conditioning Units connected to 14 Individual Fan Coils conditioning various areas. All systems were linked back to a Panasonics Central Control Station with multiple time schedules to suit the different areas and usage. The Ablution Extraction System was by way of Fantech Stand By/Duty Duct Mounted Fan connected to Cyclonic Rated Discharge Louvres.
CMP also constructed the Cool Room and Freezer Room complete with supply and installation of Enthalpy Refrigeration Units for food and drink storage to the retail area. The Cool Rooms built by ACI were designed with a raked ceiling to maximise storage space in the areas. The floors were built using Cool Room Panel, 16mm Ply and a 6mm Checker Plate Aluminium Floor. Maslen Heater Glass doors were installed for retail access to both the cool room and freezer room.
We would like to thank the staff at Monkey Mia for their hospitality, AMS for all their site support and the CMP Installation Team for their level of detail and quality.
